List of Apps and Software for Designing Stage Plots

Online

StageOn.app

A modern web-based stage plot and technical rider platform created to solve one of live production’s most common frustrations: outdated PDFs and static documentation during shows.

The platform also features automatic input list generation as users build stage layouts, helping streamline communication between artists, production teams, and venues.

Premium features include advanced routing tools, visibility filters for complex productions, professional templates for orchestras and large ensembles, and clean export options for PDF, XLSX, and CSV formats.

Stagediver

An online stage plot and technical rider builder designed for sound engineers, musicians, touring crews, and live production professionals. By bringing stage layouts, input and output lists, backline requirements, and technical riders together in one platform, Stagediver simplifies the process of preparing and advancing a show.

Using an interactive, real-scale 3D stage canvas, users can position instruments, microphones, monitors, and production equipment while automatically generating corresponding technical lists. Changes to the stage setup are reflected throughout the project, helping crews maintain accurate, up-to-date information without juggling multiple documents.

Once everything is ready, users can create a professional, multi-page technical rider and share it with venues, production teams, and crew members through a public link or downloadable PDF.

Whether you’re advancing a tour, preparing for a festival, or organizing a local show, Stagediver helps streamline communication, reduce paperwork, and keep everyone working from the same information.

Stagediver is currently free to use during its beta period.

Stage Plot Designer

An easy solution is this free online tool. Fill out artist, venue, date/time, and optional input list and notes, and drag and drop graphic elements to your heart’s content. Then click the Print button to generate a PDF.

Shortfall: you can’t seem to add notes to the graphic elements on the layout part; you have to put notes in a single dedicated scribble field at the bottom. However, this totally beats doing everything by hand in a free graphic editor or word processing software (MS Word, Google Docs, Open Office, etc.)

StagePlot Guru for iPad

It features effortless and intuitive stage plot creation, customized graphics (equivalent to a video game), 100s of “props” included in the $4.99 pro-upgrade, ability to add lists, notes and contact info, and an ever-expanding prop library.
