SoundGirls.Org is very excited to be developing a camp program that will introduce young women to live sound. The pilot camp will take place take place July 27 – August 2, in Modesto, California, and is sponsored by The Northern California Women’s Music Festival. The program will cover the basics of live sound, careers available, skills needed, and tips for starting out in the industry. The program will end with a live event run by the girls.
SoundGirls.Org is currently seeking donations for the girls to put together their own tool-kits. We are hoping to be able to put together 35 – 40 tool-kits. If you can donate or secure donations of the items – please contact Karrie at soundgirls.org@gmail.com.
We are also seeking a donation to print A Girls Guide to Doing Sound, a guidebook we have created for the girls. In the future we hope to seek funding to bring the program to more underserved communities. To help us get this program off the ground – Please consider making a donation or purchasing a t-shirt. All proceeds are to offset travel costs to provide this program.
