Dear SoundGirls.Org Members,
We want to begin by thanking all of the members that took our survey. The feedback we received has been invaluable in helping us figure out how to better serve this community.
One of the suggestions we got over and over again was the desire for a monthly email newsletter. We heard you – so to balance too much email vs. not enough, we will issue newsletters as new opportunities, seminars, and news arise, roughly every four to six weeks.
We will launch the inaugural edition of our monthly(ish) newsletter in January 2016. As always, keep up to date by checking our website – all current events and news are on the homepage, and there you will find our monthly profiles, current articles, and all our blogs. You will also find member benefits, internship opportunities, and SoundGirls.Org Meet Ups dates.
Until then we wanted to make sure you knew about the upcoming SSL Training workshops at Rat Sound Systems. Dec. 8 – 11th. There are only a few spaces left. We are also hosting FOH and TM Seminars, the first one will be Dec. 19th in Modesto, CA followed by Los Angeles Jan. 2 and New York Jan 9th. More info on the homepage at SoundGirls.Org
SoundGirls.Org News
With great sadness, we say goodbye to Co-Founder Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato as an active director. Michelle has found that between family matters and her regular touring gig as FOH Engineer for Styx (over 150 shows per year), she no longer has the time to dedicate to the organization. Michelle remains an avid supporter and will continue to be a contributor when time permits. We sorely miss her and hope she can contribute on a regular basis.
We welcome Tiffany Hendren on-board as a Co-Director. Tiffany is the house monitor engineer at The Pageant in St. Louis and is currently touring with A Silent Film as their FOH engineer. Tiffany has been a supporter of SoundGirls.Org since 2014 and dedicated numerous weeks to help develop our Live Sound Camp for Girls. She’s awesome on the tech side and is getting us better organized with our social media platforms and web-site. She is also working on a new website design and platform that will offer better navigation, be mobile friendly and is cost effective. Tiffany has some great ideas for our community, and we look forward to working with her.
For all our U.S. members, whether on the road or at home we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Thanks for being part of an awesome and supportive community,
Karrie and Tiffany
