About RVA Women in Audio Open House: On Saturday, August 12th from 11am – 3pm, at the studios of WRIR-LP 97.3 FM, RVA Women in Audio is hosting a Career in Audio day in conjunction with SoundGirls.org. We will have workshops and networking. Come and meet WRIR’s awesome group of audio engineers, show hosts and producers, board operators and technicians. Women are rocking audio in Richmond! Come learn, meet and network.
- Workshop A –(45-50 min) Mock Radio recording in Studio B with. Interviewing Skills with Whitney Whiting (and Sara Suarez)?
- Workshop B – (10-20 min) DJ show and tell with Fontaine (host, What the Fontaine!?)
- Workshop C – (35-45 min) Editing with Sonia Silveira (Producer of Prose & Cons). Production Room
- Workshop D – (30-45 min) Live editing in Studio C with Caroline Griswald (aka Princess Beet Farmer)
- Workshop E – (30 -45 min) On the Street Field Recording with Cameron Robinson (Production Coordinator)
- Workshop F – (45-50 min) Different mics! Shotgun to Lav with Sara Suarez (Filmmaker, sound designer)
- Networking – Meet local WRIR Djs, producers and volunteers making waves (SOUND WAVES LOL) in Richmond, VA!
