Shadowing Opportunities – Berlin
SoundGirl Vicki Schmatolla is offering the following shadowing opportunities in Berlin.
May 1 – Myfest 2018 – Afrika Stage
We are setting up for several bands between 9 am and 10 pm.
We will be using a Front PA d&b 702 System, Monitor: 4 Seeburg Monitors + 1x Sub Bass für Drumfill and FOH: Yamaha M7CL
May 8th – Recording lecture – with two video cameras and wireless lavaliere microphone at Psychologische Hochschule Berlin
May 18th and 19th – Two shows at Maxim Gorki Theatre. Working sound using a d&b system as well, having my show files in a qlab session. We will be installing a subtitle setup as well. (translation german into english)
June 27 – July 1 Fusion Festival – Audio/Video gig installing projectors for a dance company show.

You will be invited to attend for three to four hours to see the system set up. (Limited to one to three women)
Times will be 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Berklee College of Music hosted a panel on Women in Audio, this past Sunday at The Village Studios in Los Angeles. Organized by Justine Taormino, from Berklee College of Music, the panel included April Tucker, Tina Morris, and myself. We had a mix of Berklee Students and Alumni and SoundGirls members. It was a rewarding way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I love meeting and hearing other women’s stories and the paths they have taken. (more…)
Volunteer with PS 354 The STEM Institute of Queens
PS 354 The STEM Institute of Queens located in Jamaica, Queens has contacted SoundGirls.Org to work with the New York Institute of Technology’s National Society of Black Engineers Campus Chapter, who provide after-school programming in robotics and sound engineering.They are offering this program to their 4th and 5th grade girls and looking to develop audio engineering curriculum. They are a STEM focused magnet school striving to provide an engaging, child-centered learning environment. They are currently rewriting curriculum to infuse technology, career awareness, service-learning, and connect curriculum areas. Their students are coding, programming robots, creating PSAs and documentaries, engaging in engineering design challenges.
