DiGiCo and L-Acoustics Workshop – U.K.

Join us for an exclusive workshop with DiGiCo and L-Acoustics where you’ll gain experience with the DiGiCo T software and L-Acoustics L-ISA Processor hear advanced spatial audio mixing techniques. You’ll gain experience with the L-ISA Processor and learn more about DiGiCo’s Industry-standard Theatre Software extension. This session is designed for creatives, audio professionals and engineers, looking to explore immersive sound mixing and elevate their creative approach.

SoundGirls L-Acoustics Grants

L-Acoustics is offering four grants for courses in the L-Acoustics Education Program. The Education Team has structured the grants to relate to certain job profiles to help the recipient advance their knowledge and skills in their respective fields:

These grants focus on offering access to in-person trainings via our packaged seminars. For in-person attendance of courses, hotel accommodations are included with the grant. Grant recipients are responsible for any additional travel expenses. If the recipient is unable to attend an in-person training, the recipient will be offered online training options instead. 

Prospective candidates must be members of SoundGirls and have until November 1, 2025 to submit their application. Winners will receive notification of their award by December 1, 2025 and announcement will be made via the website and social media. Candidates can only apply for one choice of grant.


System Technician Grant

This grant consists of enrollment to the following courses in the L-Acoustics Education Program:

This grant aims to empower the trainee to learn how to mount, rig, cable, and connect a L-Acoustics system.

SoundGirls Grants for L-Acoustics Connect Conference

SoundGirls, in collaboration with L-Acoustics, is excited to announce that L-Acoustics will be offering 8 grants to the L-Acoustics Connect conference happening March 11-13, 2025, in Paris, France. These grants will cover the recipient’s registration at the conference, including the training on Day 1 and 4 nights of hotel accommodation. Any person who is an active member of SoundGirls, anywhere in the world, can apply.

Travel expenses such as flights and transportation are not covered by the grant. Meals will be available during the conference.

You must have completed the following prerequisites to apply for a grant that includes any of the following training on day 1: M1-P1 Measurement & Tuning, Festival Project Workshop, or Touring Project Workshop. 

The prerequisites are indicated below and must be completed before the L-Acoustics Connect conference starts.

Applicants must choose one training day to apply for and L-Acoustics will award one grant for each training+conference except for the L2 System training which will have 2 associated grants awarded.

Applications for the grant are due by January 31, 2025.

Grant recipients will be announced by February 11, 2025.

Carolyn Slothour (System Expert grant)

Carolyn Slothour is a freelance live sound engineer based in New York with 10 years of experience in the audio industry with a specialization in FOH, monitor, and systems engineering. She has recently worked with artists such as Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas and Michael Bublé, and has mixed at festivals including Download, When We Were Young, Corona Capital, Slam Dunk and Lollapalooza. In addition to engineering, she develops curriculum and teaches live sound engineering courses for a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve accessibility and diversity within the audio industry. When not working, Carolyn enjoys making electronic music and spinning fire.

Monica Bolles (L-ISA grant)

Monica Bolles has been working with spatial audio since 2011, when she first gained access to her local planetarium’s 15.1 channel surround system. Since then, she has developed custom toolsets in Max MSP and explored emerging technologies to craft textured soundscapes that explore space, movement, and interaction. As both a technician and artist, she collaborates with artists and composers to bring their work into immersive spatial environments, while also producing her own large-scale multichannel installations, exhibited on systems ranging from 8 to 140 channels.

Monica co-hosts the Immersive Audio Podcast and contributes to organizing Spatial Audio Meetups through NOTAM. She frequently curates, moderates, and presents workshops and panels on spatial audio, with appearances at notable events such as the New Visions Festival, SXSW, IRCAM Forums, Ableton Loop, IMERSA Summit, and NIME, among others.

Monica currently owns and operates Resonant Interactions, a company specializing in immersive experience design and immersive music production.

Madison Keefer (System Engineer grant)

Hey everyone, I’m Madison Keefer and I’m a 22 year old who is super passionate about audio engineering. I run sound for Lightning Hockey games and I am a Patch tech with ESI Audio. I aspire to be a System Engineer one day and am always working on bettering my skills. I love how fast paced this industry is and the work I get to do. I am so thankful to have the job that I have and to play a part in creating legendary memories for people around the world.

Jess hails from Perth, Western Australia. She started her audio career mixing FOH in small, local live music venues. Since then she has branched out and is working full time for one of the largest audio production companies in Perth. Rat Sound Systems has always been known for its innovation and creativity. From the beginning with their custom sound systems designed for the punk rock scene Rat incorporated innovations. Such as, hard for the punters to climb, beer and boot stomping tolerant stage monitors, system protection limiters that allowed the engineers to turn things up to “11” without blowing out speakers, and compact packaging that fit into a van.
